Grim Dark Series Coins
There are opposing forces represented in the grim dark series this first coin is based on the Reduction In Force (RIF) and Layoffs going on in the Tech sector right now and the survivor's guilt that remains with the staff that now has higher workloads.
"The Game" is the first coin.
On one side is the "Not a grim reaper" where the character is an ancient force, materializing from accumulated souls that is an inevitable curse. You will notice that there is no "Pointing finger" as found in so many comic book styled reapers.Instead you eye is drawn to the grin on the reaper and the souls hidden in smoke. You will notice the open skeletal hand partially forming from smoke reaching outward not pointing. This is patient, eternal and certain there is no need for pointing or screaming, death stopped being emotional a thousand years ago. The eyes you notice a lack of fantasy and more deep sockets with faint embers. The Embers build into ash, smoke and darkness. Not a Grim Reaper.
An ancient primordial force assembled from centuries of accumulated souls. The smoke becomes spirits, the spirits become chains, the chains become the cloak, the cloak becomes the skull. Calm. Patient. Inevitable. A forgotten tomb relic that appears dormant until the viewer realizes the darkness itself is alive.
On the opposite side of coin the opposition to death; the fight to continue when all that is left is spite.
An ancient undead Viking emerges from darkness, standing against a violent northern storm. His battered shield is scarred by centuries of warfare, covered in axe strikes and cracked wood. A raven perches atop the shield while storm winds whip its feathers. In his other hand, he carries a massive battle-worn sword etched with glowing ancient runes that pulse through the darkness. Broken chainmail hangs from an exposed skeletal frame. His skull bears cracks and signs of countless battles, while one eye burns with a cold spectral light. Lightning flashes through distant storm clouds, illuminating swirling snow and mist behind him. The sword, runes, skull, and raven are rendered with extreme contrast. "Death came for him centuries ago, and he's still standing." with the reading: "THE HORRORS PERSIST BUT SO DO I"
These works are done on a UV laser with a level of detail that might leave you wanting to use a magnifying glass to see it all.
